Hiring & Working With Us
What should I look for when hiring a software development agency?
Short answer
Ask who writes the code — not who is in the pitch. Ask to see working software weekly rather than status reports. Confirm in writing that you own the code, accounts and IP. And take seriously any agency willing to tell you which part of your idea they would not build.
The most common failure is the bait and switch: senior people sell the work, junior people deliver it. Ask directly who will be writing your code, and ask to meet them.
Insist on working software every week. Status reports can describe progress that does not exist; a clickable build cannot.
Get ownership in writing before you start — source code, cloud accounts, domains, app store listings, IP. Agencies that hold accounts hostage do exist.
The strongest signal is honesty against their own interest. An agency that tells you a feature is not worth building, or that your budget is better spent elsewhere, is one you can trust with the decisions you cannot check.
